Trio for violin, cello and piano, premiered in May 2009 at the Bovard Auditorium of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. It was part of a benefit concert of Spanish music fighting against cancer, organized by Mr. Inocencio Arias, Former Consul of Spain in Los Angeles, in collaboration with conductor and horn player Pablo Ortiz de Urbina and composer Navarro himself.
“Things of destiny“ is divided in 4 parts, where two constrasting themes (melodic and rhytmically) are presented. Each one of the instruments will take the lead at the different stages of the piece, making of it an attractive and pleasing challenge for the players technically speaking. The driving force of the whole piece is simply the idea of enjoying the magic of this piece of music, with no need for further analysis.
