Oscar Navarro

Winner of the “HOLLYWOOD MUSIC IN MEDIA AWARDS” (Los Angeles,USA) and Nominee in the GOYA SPANISH ACADEMY AWARDS 2014, film Composer Oscar Navarro has received other many awards including the “10th Cinemoatography Music Critics Awards”, “Mundo BSO Awards”, “XIII Goldspirit Awards”, “Global Music Awards”, “Accolade Music Awards”…

Oscar studied composition and conducting at the “Allegro International Music Academy” of Valencia, with his mentor and friend Ferrer Ferrán. Shortly after he was selected by the prestigious University of Southern California Thornton School of Music (Los Angeles, USA) to study Scoring for Motion Picture and TV and recording his music in some of the most notable studios of Los Angeles, including Capitol Records, Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. And also in European Studios (Kiev Radio Symphony Orchestra, Macedonia Symphony Orchestra, Cordoba Symphony Orchestra (Spain). After finishing his studies, he was awarded with the “Harry Warren Endowed Scholarship for Scoring for Motion Pictures and TV” prize, as the most advanced graduating student on his course.

In the film industry, Navarro has written music for Feature films, Short films and Documentaries, highlighting the feature Movie “LA MULA”(The Mule) for which he was nominated for Best Original Score in the GOYA AWARDS 2014 (Spanish Academy Awards), or the Soundtrack for the Documentary Movie “Sueños de Sal” (Dreams of Salt) which won the GOYA 2016 for Best Documentary and won the – MUSICAL CRITICS AWARDS SPANISH FILM (Spain) for Best Score of the year.

Oscar use to collaborate also writing the music for short films highlighting “PROJECT K9” for which he was nominated for Best Soundtrack in the “Hollywood Music in Media Awards” ,  the Short Movie “Acting 101” by director Rene Rhi for which Navarro received the nomination for Best Soundtrack in the “Los Angeles independent Film Festival” (USA) or the recent animated short film “Madrid 2120” winner of the GOYA AWARDS for best animated short film.

Oscar Navarro holds many national and international composition awards for Concert Music and Film Music, and his music is performed in major performance venues across the world by some of the leading orchestral and wind ensembles such The Cleveland Orchestra (Ohio, USA), BBC Philharmonic Orchestra (UK), Louisville Symphony (Kentucky, USA), Princeton Symphony (New Jersey, USA), The Hollywood Studio Orchestra (Los Ángeles, USA), , The Royal School of Music Symphony Orchestra (London, UK), Kiev Radio Symphony Orchestra (Ukraine), Downey Symphony Orchestra (Los Ángeles, USA), Principado de Asturias  Symphony Orchestra (Spain), Spanish National Youth Orchestra  (Spain), Generalitat Valenciana Youth Orchestra (Spain),  Royal Band of the Belgian Guides (Belgium), University of Minnesota Duluth Concert Band, North Texas Wind Ensemble, University of Boston Concert Band, Madrid Municipal Band, etc…His pieces have been performed in venues such as Teatro La Scala (Milan), Carnegie Hall (New York,USA), Walt Disney Hall (Los Angeles), Tanglewood Music Festival (Massachussets, USA), Lincoln Center (New York, USA), Tchaikovsky Music Hall (Moscow,Russia), Musikverein (Viena), Zaryadye Music Hall (Moscow) or the Spanish National Auditorium.
