“ROSE IN FLAMES”
For Harp, Voice and Symphony Orchestra
(Transcription for Wind Band)
“Rose in Flames” is a song for harp, voice and Symphony Orchestra that describes the story of a young woman playing the harp high up in a castle (in medieval times); lonely, sad, outside the window a desolate, burned landscape, where smoke still rises from the ashes. Passing through flames, smoke and desolation, we see life sprouting; life that finds its way after death: a red rose that survives the flames.
